Project C.P.R.

J.O.E Eco Alliance jointly launched campaign Commence Plastic Reduction (Project C.P.R.) between April to July 2019, together with Blossom World Society.

Project C.P.R. is supported by the MEWR and National Youth Council (NYC). This campaign aims to spread the awareness of the adverse effects of plastic waste on environment, thereby encouraging participants to reduce the usage of plastics in their daily life. In particular, we target the reduction in usage of disposable plastics such as plastic utensils, straws and bags.

A study commissioned by the Singapore Environmental Council have found that shoppers in Singapore take 820 million plastic bags from supermarkets each year – an average of 146 plastic bags for each person. These 820 million bags can cover the land area of 126 Gardens by the Bay, and the petroleum used in their production can power 1.9 million car rides across the length of the island and back.

There is a real need to reduce the number of disposable plastic bags, right now!

Plastic Less July Exhibition

The exhibition will be held on 20 and 21 July 2019 at Westgate.

Winners of our contests will present their winning short videos and speeches to the guest-of-honour and the public before receiving thier prizes from our guest-of-honour. Improve your eco-knowledge at the interactive and informative leaning exhibits.

Public is welcomed to join our fun Q&A games and participate in J.O.E’s handmade string bag workshop.
